As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a safe environment for eye exams, Dr. Dugue and Dr. Chi have received both doses of the COVID19 vaccination.
Debuted in 2020, Precision 1 is Alcon's newest silicone hydrogel daily disposable contacts. It utilizes Alcon's "SmartSurface" technology to create greater than 80% water content at the lens' surface. This provides improved all day comfort and vision. This lens comes in astigmatism prescription as well. Schedule your appointment and try it out! We are excited to announce that we have acquired the newest daily disposable contacts from Bausch+Lomb! Infuse is a silicone hydrogel contact lens with their next generation material, khalifilcon A. What that means is that it provides all-day comfort and great optics. According to B+L, it was designed to address unmet needs of contact lens wearer, especially dryness. Ask your eye doctor about B+L Infuse at your next visit! Most families are now entering the school year with a portion of distance learning and/or working from home. Computer screens are inherently different from paper textbooks and can lead to eye strain and fatigue after prolonged use. We recommend an eye exam for you and your kids to evaluate if there is any uncorrected prescription that can lead to those problems. There is also a special coating that can be added to lenses to reduce the blue light emitted from digital devices. See our articles about computer vision here. Make your appointment today!

Since Governor Newsom did not provide an end date to the statewide order, it is difficult to determine our schedule for the next coming weeks. Please give us a call at 949-951-1424 for clarification on any questions you may have. Thank you for your cooperation and your trust in our office. In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking precautions in mitigating the spread of the virus. Some of the precautions we observe on a normal basis, such as washing our hands, sanitizing work areas, and disinfecting our equipment. We are also now disinfecting every pair of frames so that it is sterile before a patient puts them on.
As a healthcare operation, we are open to patients during this difficult time so that we may meet their visual needs. However, we advise patients who are exhibiting symptoms (such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath) to reschedule until they are feeling well. We advise those who have recently traveled to affected areas or countries to do the same. If you are over 70 years old, immuno-compromised, or have underlying conditions, please reschedule as well. Thank you for your cooperation and your trust in our office. As part of his commitment to stay current with new contact lens advancements, Dr. Dugue recently went to a learning seminar at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care at Jacksonville, Florida. At the seminar, he learned about new ongoing contact lens studies and was able to tour the robotics facility that manufactures contact lenses. In fact, he and Dr. Chi are currently investigating visual performance with J&J's Acuvue Transition lenses.
In addition, Dr. Chi attended a 5-hour seminar over the weekend and had the opportunity to learn about new advancements in LASIK and cataract surgery. The Foundation for Ophthalmic Medical Education organized more than five speakers to educate a large group of optometrists. |
